Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs have announced their respective starting line-ups for this evening’s titanic Betway Premiership clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
After Orlando Pirates’ win last night, the gap has been cut to two points with three games remaining and Sundowns understand that they cannot drop points if they want to continue their dominant title charge.
The Brazilians come into clash having recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over Polokwane City, a result that took their tally to 64 points with three games left. They stitched two consecutive wins together, and a draw which saw head coach Miguel Cardoso clinching the Coach of the Month accolade for April. His third in consecutive months.
Sundowns haven’t lost a home league match since May 2024, when they lost to Cape Town City and look to further stretch that feat against a wounded Chiefs side.
Amakhosi, on the other hand, aim to seal their CAF Confederation Cup spot after falling short for the CAF Champions League.
Chiefs are currently on a three-match winless run after playing two draws against Polokwane City and Orlando Pirates, before a 2-0 defeat against Siwelele FC.
In the last five league meetings, Sundowns won four games, and one game ended as a goalless draw.
Here’s a look at how both teams line-up:
Sundowns Starting XI: Williams, Mudau, Cupido, Ndamane, Modiba, Mokoena, Adams, Allende, Matthews, Zwane, Leon.
