SuperSport Keen On Angola AFCON Star

SuperSport United have cast their sights on Angolan international goalkeeper Neblú Cipriano ahead of the new season.

Gavin Hunt’s side are heading into the 2024/25 season with a clear ambition to be more competitive after finishing seventh in the DStv Premiership.

The likes of Keagan Dolly, Pogiso Sanoka, and Vincent Pule looks set to join the club if the deals are finalised this week.

And after losing Ricardo Goss, added to the tragic passing of George Chigova, the club are seeking a new shot-stopper for the first team.

Neblú, one of the stars of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, is said to be the prime target, as he boasts plenty of experience on the continent and established himself as the first-choice keeper of the national team with 21 caps.

Should the 30-year-old of C.D. Primeiro de Agosto agree terms, he would be competing with Samkelo Xulu, while talks of Goss’ return is also ongoing.

Washington Arubi is likely to depart, with the club aiming for three keepers in the first-team squad next season.
