iDiski TV analyst Benedict Vilakazi has maintained that Orlando Pirates will still be crowned Betway Premiership champions despite suffering a minor setback on Saturday.
The Buccaneers had the chance to wrap up the league capture in front of their supporters at a sold-out Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday, but a stubborn Durban City side proved a hard nut to crack as the tie ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
The title stumblock puts Pirates two points behind log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of their decider against relegation-threatened ORBIT College at Mbombela Stadium next weekend.
After the draw against the reigning Nedbank Cup champions, there were panics that the league is gone with sections of the Pirates faithful seen shedding tears after the final whistle.
‘Tso’ however remains defiant that Pirates will still win the crown in their last league match of the season.
“I’m disappointed in the sense that Pirates didn’t win the game,” he said on iDiski TV.
“I’m still standing that Pirates will win the league. I said it when the season starts.
“Even when Pirates were facing difficulties, [Mamelodi] Sundowns coming back to sitting on top until against TS Galaxy where they lost to give us an opportunity.
“That is why I love the man above [God]. He shows you that I can give you this, but you need to do the right things. Just look at the opportunities Pirates are getting to win the league.
“Now, this is our last chance to win the league. We miss this chance, I don’t know what to say.
“But, I still believe [Pirates will win the league].”
