Uganda international midfielder Kiza Arafat Usuma looks set for a move to the Premier Soccer League next season after an impressive campaign with KCCA.
Usama, 20, is widely considered as one of the brightest talents in his homeland and was strongly linked with a move to Wydad Athletic Club, with Rulani Mokwena, coaching the Botola Pro side at the time, a keen admirer of his talents.
“Arafat is a very special player and creative; Uganda should take care of him so that he becomes a very good player in the world,” Mokwena said back in 2022 about the midfielder during a visit to Uganda.
However, the move failed to materialised and he continued his career in the Uganda Premier League where he once again shone with five goals and three assists in 17 games.
Ugandan league winners Vipers have made contact with KCCA over his availability as they look to build a squad to qualify for the CAF Champions League group stages – but iDiski Times understands Marumo Gallants, TS Galaxy and Durban City have entered the race.
It’s likely to player will be in favour of a move to South Africa as he seeks a new challenge, joining the likes of legendary Denis Onyango, Salim Magoola, Ismail Watenga as part of the Ugandan contingent in the country next season.
