Will Parker Play Professional Again? Die Hond Responds

TS Galaxy midfielder Bernard Parker has revealed that his recovery has been going well and the chances of him playing top-level for “are high”.

Parker, 37, suffered a leg break after a bad tackle by Bongani Zungu in the Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final, with many onlookers fearing that the serious injury would mean the end of his career.

However, Parker has since been successfully operated and is full of confidence that he will return to the pitch, saying he feeds off the positive feedback he has received from TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi as well as Rockets coach Sead Ramovic.

“The chances are high for Bernard Parker playing professionally because I still got a contract to honour,” he told Andile Ncube on Metro FM.

“The contract ends in June, the doctor says February/March.

“We’ll see, I’m focussing on my recovery the best I can, which I am doing very, very well.

“My chairman at TS Galaxy said to me, ‘as long as TS Galaxy exist, you’ve got a place here. What you have to do now is focus as much as you can on your recovery, and then we’ll see what happens after’.

“My coach, Sead, who is a brilliant one, a wonderful person, he’s like a father figure to us, he said to me ‘Bernard, I feel like you’ve still got three years in you.

“At this level, at this age, what you’ve been doing, you still give people tough times, you still get Man of the Match performances, I still believe you’ve got three years in you’.

“I feed off positivity, I grab and I suck as much positiveness as I can and that has been helping with this road of recovery.

“We’ll see what happens after recovery. I believe in my strong mind that Die Hold will be back on the field.”
