AmaZulu co-coach Arthur Zwane has opened up on the revival of Rowan Human this season.
Human, 24, joined AmaZulu at the start of last season, with the club beating Kaizer Chiefs in the race for his services but endured a poor debut season.
He featured in only 11 games with no goals and no assists and notably owned up to the issues stating he could have worked harder overall.
He’s now leading the assist charts in the league with six with two goals in 16 appearances and has notably been revived in a wide midfield role since the arrival of Zwane and Vusumuzi Vilakazi as the leaders of the technical team.
“Our advantage, myself and coach Kanu, coming from the development structures for quite some time and understanding how these young players do things,” he explained.
“Sometimes you can be too harsh on them, but you also look at the situation, can he take the pressure? And if he can take the pressure, you put the pressure on him, you challenge him because you want to get the best out of him.

“I think he’s one of the players who have responded positively to that, and we needed to take him to another level, to push him. You can be a player that is very important for a very long time, which is good because he was an investment from the club.
“It’s good to see the youngsters doing well for themselves and also carrying the team, it’s the season of youngsters doing very well – so we’re also trying to push the youngsters we have, Sithole, Msindisi [Ndlovu], we want to give them opportunities.”
The Bidvest Wits academy product, Human joined AmaZulu from Maritzburg United and previously had a stint in Isreal with Maccabi Tel Aviv and Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam.
