Orlando Pirates legend Happy Jele believes that his former side is capable of beating Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League eSgodini this coming weekend.
The two sides meet in a top-of-the-table Group C encounter after they both picked up three points on match-day one.
The Red Devils hammered Stade d’Abidjan 4-2 at home while the Buccaneers also picked up maximum points on the road with a 2-1 win over CR Belouizdad.
Speaking to iDiski Times writer Lethabo Kganyago in the edition 183 of the newspaper, “Magents” heaped praise on the current Pirates team adding that they know how to play and beat Ahly with Jose Riveiro’s men having to concentrate for 90 minutes and take their chances as Ahly’s approach will be very defensive.
“Yeah, they can [beat Al Ahly],” Jele told iDiski Times.
“We once did it so why not? They are capable of beating Al Ahly at home. The most important thing, they just need to concentrate for 90 minutes because Al Ahly when they come here, they are going to try and defend for Orlando Pirates not to score goals. If they get a chance, they will make sure they capitalise.
“But the most important thing is they will try and not concede a goal. They will do a low-block situation. They’re not going to outrun Orlando Pirates to make sure that they get a win.
“So, the more Pirates do not do mistakes, the more they will get a chance to win.”
