Former Goalkeeper Roped In For New Role At Pirates

Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane is back at the club as an assistant Goalkeeper Coach.

Mpontshane, 38, was released at the end of last season after nine years at the club since his arrival from Platinum Stars.

It appeared that he would potentially continue his career elsewhere but now he’s been roped in as the assistant to current Goalkeeper Coach Tyron Damons.

Mponthsane was seen at training this morning ahead of their clash against Disciples FC for their 2nd leg CAF Champions League preliminary round clash with the goalkeeping department.

Sipho Chaine, Melusi Buthelezi, Ethan Visagie and Siyanbonga Dladla were present among the group of keepers.
