Mamelodi Sundowns captain and midfielder Themba ‘Mshishi’ Zwane has broken his silence regarding his future with the club following their triumph in the CAF Champions League.
Mshishi touched down with the newly crowned African champions at OR Tambo International Airport on Monday after they defeated ASFAR of Morocco 2-1 on aggregate in a two-legged final.
This is their second star in a decade with Zwane having lifted both trophies along with goalkeeper Denis Onyango as survivors from the 2016 squad.
Meanwhile, the South African international’s contract with Sundowns is coming to an end in June this year and on the back of an injury-riddled campaign for the midfielder.
Asked what the future looks like and beyond, the 36-year-old said he’s still basking in the glory of the side’s achievement, but he’d like to finish his career at Chloorkop.
“To be honest I don’t know,” said Mshishi during a press briefing at OR Tambo on Tuesday morning.
“I don’t want to lie I don’t know but for now I’m just enjoying this moment with the guys, and we’ll see. We’ll see when the time goes.
“But obviously my wish is to stay here and finish my career with Mamelodi Sundowns.”
