Mamelodi Sundowns and FC Nouadhibou announced their starting line-up for this afternoon’s CAF Champions League Group A clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
It’s been two weeks since Sundowns were crowned African Football League champions, beating Wydad Athletic Club in the jam-packed Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
Downs return to action after two weeks of international break, welcoming 11-time Mauritanian champions FC Nouadhibou.
Masandawana are in the hunt for their second CAF Champions League title as they won it in 2016 and their new quest starts this afternoon.
They will have to start their journey without in-form Aubrey Modiba after he got injured during the international break but they’ve welcomed back the likes of Peter Shalulile and Sipho Mbule.
Nouadhibou are contesting in the group stages for the first time in the club’s history. The 11th-time Mauritania league champions arrived in South Africa six days ago, as they wanted to get used to the weather and playing on grass.
The CAFCL debutants will look up to their two key players to carry them; Ousmane Faye and Sidi Amar.
