Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Marcelo Allende has called on his side to embrace the challenge of a difficult second leg away from home, with the Chilean making clear that nothing short of continental glory will satisfy the squad.
Sundowns head into the return fixture with the advantage of a first-leg clean sheet, but Allende was under no illusions about what awaits them on the road, acknowledging the atmosphere will be a very different proposition.

The Masandawana squad made the flight to Rabat on Tuesday, where they will now have four days to prepare for the second leg, where they hold a 1-0 advantage over ASFAR.
“We fight for the past few seasons and among the four best in Africa, we know how important this tournament is for the club and for all the players,” he said.
“We’ll keep pushing, the target is to win this trophy, which is the most important one on the continent. We know the second leg is away, it will be different than here.”
Rather than shying away from the hostile environment, Allende seemed to relish the prospect, insisting Sundowns have the qualities to match whatever Alexandre Santos’ side brings.
“We know they have their people – we have our strengths also, we want to fight that side and deliver the cup to our fans and our people,” he added.
After years of near misses on the continent, Allende and his teammates have sung to the same tune, showing belief the second star will arrive after a decade of waiting.
