Tau Scores Brace In CAFCL

Percy Tau gave the perfect response to his Bafana Bafana snub on the pitch and netted a brace in Al Ahly’s CAF Champions League opener.

Tau, 30, had missed the last Bafana camp, with Hugo Broos citing his situation at Al Ahly as one of the reasons why he didn’t call up the winger.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Brighton & Hove Albion star himself was not too pleased with Broos’ reasoning and now responded on the pitch.

In Al Ahly’s first CAFCL game of the season, Tau netted a brace against Kenyan side Gor Mahia FC.

Rami Rabia had opened the scoring after just 14 minutes, while Tau made it 2-0 just two minutes later.

Tau completed his brace in the 74th minute to secure an important away win for the defending champions, who now have more than one foot in the group stages.
