Leaders Kaizer Chiefs and defending champions Stellenbosch FC are set for a blockbuster top-of-the-table DStv Diski Challenge clash at Idas Valley Sports Ground.
Back-to-back champions Stellies host Amakhosi with the tie deemed as the title decider with just one point between the two sides. The Cape Winelands side could leapfrog Chiefs into pole position with a win in this clash to keep their title aspirations alive and potentially push this race to the wire as they sit in second place with 53 points.
Amakhosi will once again be without head coach Vela Khumalo who is on national duty with the U17 squad and will be hoping to make him proud by gunning for maximum points to move them closer to their maiden DDC league title. Chiefs still have a game behind which is against Chippa United and currently occupy top spot with 54 points.
Meanwhile, the highest scoring team in the league, Cape Town City, battle with Orlando Pirates. The Citizens scored 61 goals this season but conceded 54 and have now found themselves out of the title conversation with pride and the badge all they are playing for when they face Bucs.
Pirates are still mathematically in the title race, but it is not in their hands with Stellies and Chiefs running riot at the top. The Buccaneers are 11 points behind league leaders Chiefs and have played two games more.
Fourth-placed SuperSport United will welcome Bernard Parker’s TS Galaxy with the hope of keeping their title hopes alive. Matsatsantsa are 10 points behind Chiefs with five games remaining.
