Dobsonville Stadium is the place to be when this weekend’s DStv Diski Challenge witness arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates battle it out in the Soweto Derby while SuperSport United face off against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Tshwane Derby.
The day starts with AmaZulu up against table-toppers Stellenbosch FC which will be followed by Magesi taking on bottom-placed Marumo Gallants.
The Tshwane derby between SuperSport and Sundowns will then conclude Saturday. High-flying Sundowns aim to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches and keep the pressure on Stellies while Matsatsantsa on the other hand look to make a breakthrough into the top four and also maintain their five-match unbeaten run.

Sundowns have dominated this fixture in the past, winning three to SuperSport’s two and with points shared in one tie in the past six matches.
Sunday begins with the Limpopo derby between Polokwane City and Sekhukhune United. Wounded Rise and Shine come into this game with poor results, losing three of the last five matches and winning two. Babina Noko have equally been struggling to find balance but will end the four-match winless run should they bag bragging rights.
United come into this tie the better side having collected four points against City. Last season, the former won 2-0 in the first round before playing to a 1-1 draw in the return fixture.
The Soweto derby will the conclude the weekend when Amakhosi take on fiercest nemesis the Buccaneers with three points and bragging rights up for grabs. Vela Khumalo’s charges come into this game with their tails up after ending Cape Town City’s 552 days unbeaten run at home, hammering them 3-0.
Meanwhile, Pirates dropped points against Richards Bay in a 1-1 draw and find themselves sitting in seventh place, four points behind league leaders Stellies.
Bucs however hold the upper advantage in the last seven meetings with Joseph Makhanya’s young guns coming away with three wins to Chiefs’ two while the other two outings ending in a stalemate.
