Sundowns Go Five Points Clear

Tshwane bragging right and three points belong to DStv Diski Challenge log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns after defeating SuperSport United by 3-0.

Sundowns extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches after downing their rivals SuperSport United at Tsakane stadium. Goals from Keabetswe Ramotsei, Onele Rulwana and Thando Buthelezi sealed the win for Sinethemba Badela’s side.

The 2016/17 DStv Diski Challenge champions move to 53 points. Lamontville Golden Arrows moved into the top eight after beating AmaZulu by 2-0.

The two teams were the only two clubs in the top seven in action on Saturday, and on Sunday the other contenders will be hoping to close the gap. Second-placed Stellenbosch are now five points behind and will take on Cape Town Spurs, while Orlando Pirates, three points further behind, meet Kaizer Chiefs, with both matches part of the festival at Tsakane Stadium.

Saturday’s Results:

Lamontville Golden Arrows 2-0 AmaZulu
Royal AM 1-3 Richards Bay
TS Galaxy 1-2 Moroka Swallows
SuperSport United 0-3 Mamelodi Sundowns
