Hunt Opens Up On Career-Worst Spell

SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt has admitted he is enduring the most frustrating season in his 30-year coaching career.

This is after the former league champions suffered a 2-1 loss to Kaizer Chiefs at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in the DStv Premiership stretching their winless streak to 10 matches in 2024.

They have also picked just four points from their last seven league matches and currently sit in sixth place on the log with 36 points.

Hunt said playing with a young squad has caught up with them and they are learning the hard way, however they just need to keep on going and working hard.

“Yeah it’s very frustrating because we got a young, young group of players and we had seven Diski players playing there tonight,” said Hunt after the game.

“You can scream and shout but that’s the way the club is and that’s where we are going and that’s what we’re trying to do. So we’ve got to learn a little bit the hard way but it’s very frustrating and it is what it is.

“You’ve got to coach and just keep going. We’ve got to do a lot of development, a lot of coaching and a lot of work on the training ground”.
