Kaizer Jr – Why We Taking New Coaching Staff To Turkey

Kaizer Chiefs‘ Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Junior has expressed delight at the club’s pre-season tour of Turkey, saying it provides coaches a better assessment of the squad away from their usual ‘comfort zone’.

Amakhosi will jet out of Mzansi on Thursday, July 4, ahead of what promises to be a challenging 2024/25 DStv Premiership campaign as the club looks to bounce back from a dismal showing that saw them endure a worst-ever finish in 10th place.

The Naturena-based outfit has already done an extensive revamp of the coaching and playing personnel, with Motaung Jr hoping that they can get the best possible preparation as they aim for a return to challenging for trophies again.

“The most crucial aspect of a pre-season camp is to make sure that the team is building team unity and overall mental readiness for the season ahead. These are vital as every top team needs to work together to build its internal strength in order to be prepared for the challenges ahead,” Motaung Jr said on the club’s website.

“More specifically for us, with a new incoming coaching structure, it helps for the new coaching team to have the squad away from their normal environment in order to assess what work must be done and how they need to work going forward together.

“We are looking forward to a very productive preparation process, and we hope the team will be able to focus on the job at hand as we gear towards starting the season very strongly.”

Chiefs’ Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung, voiced out that they will also be out to build relations in Turkey whilst preparing the team.

“We are thankful that we are able to realise our dream of preparing the team overseas. This gives us an opportunity to promote the Kaizer Chiefs brand outside of the borders of South Africa. We are looking forward to a successful tour and hope it will lead us to winning, as we did when we came back from Korea in 2003.”

Amakhosi has so far confirmed it had parted ways with the likes of Keagan Dolly, Sifiso Hlanti, Siyethemba Sithebe, Njabulo Ngcobo, Jasond Gonzalez, former Head of Youth-turned Caretaker coach Cavin Johnson, and Goalkeeper Coach Rainer Dinkelacker, though the club is yet to confirm any new arrivals.
