Latest Log As Chiefs Drop Out of Top 8

Stellenbosch returned to second place in the DStv Premiership as they maintained a 23-match unbeaten run in all competitions, as Kaizer Chiefs dropped out of the top eight after the weekend action.

Steve Barker’s team came from a goal down to beat TS Galaxy on Sunday evening.

It was another disappointing weekend for Chiefs supporters, as they watched their team drop out of the top eight.

Golden Arrows bumped them out first when they moved ahead of them after their draw with Royal AM on Saturday afternoon. Chiefs then moved further down the table after Chippa United jumped ahead of both them and Arrows, after their victory over SuperSport United on Saturday evening.

On Sunday Chiefs, however, had the opportunity to get back into the top eight, but their defeat to Richards Bay, left them lingering in tenth spot, with 30 points after 24 games.

While Richards Bay remained in 15th spot, it was a big win for Vusimuzi Vilakazi’s team, as they are now eight points ahead of bottom-placed Cape Town Spurs.
