Masango Shares Advice For Shabalala & Obrigado

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana winger Mandla Masango has shared advice with Chiefs youngsters after their showing in the PSL All Star side in the Carling Black Label Cup.

The All Stars team, featuring the duo of Mdu Shabalala and Mfundo Vilakazi, were victorious against Carling Knockout Cup champions Stellenbosch FC in Polokwane this past weekend.

Masango came to the club at a young age and is also not physically strong like the pair but he went on to win two league titles with Amakhosi, a Nedbank Cup, a MTN 8 trophy and a Carling Black Label Cup.

Shabalala is already part of the first team, while Obrigado as Vilakazi is affectionately known is still campaigning in the Diski Challenge but recently made the first-team training.

“I would really say to them, they should take their opportunities [when they arrive], where the fans have faith in you,” Masango told iDiski Times.

“They’re showing it already, even though they are not established yet but they just need to grab this opportunity and play their hearts out and try and do well. They mustn’t put themselves under pressure, because they have a long career ahead.

“They just need to be dedicated and wait for their chance. But this is a platform where they can also show the coach because their future is not decided in this game only. It’s a long process. They just need to be dedicated and focused, know what they want and work hard to achieve that.”
