Sithebe’s Message To Chiefs After Exit

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe has expressed his gratitude at the club’s treatment during his tenure.

Sithebe spent two seasons at Naturena having joined from AmaZulu in 2022, but failed to live up to expectations, featuring in just 39 matches in all competitions as injuries hampered his progress.

The club opted not to extend his stay beyond June 2024, and speaking to iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu in edition 161, the dreadlocked midfielder was grateful to don the black and gold as well as learning how to handle pressure though he could not contribute to the success of silverware.

“Firstly, I want to thank the team Kaizer Chiefs for the chance they gave me and the experience of playing for a big club,” Sithebe told iDiski Times.

“I learned how people treat you and support you, and as I said, even the pressure and the professionalism. I think I have gained a lot. Coming to Kaizer Chiefs, obviously, I was coming from a smaller team. What I gained is that pressure and everything is different. Obviously, it’s a big team, and professionalism is different and everything.

“So, being able to absorb the pressure of playing for a big team that already speaks for itself, you know there are supporters everywhere you play and stadiums are always full. Obviously, even expectations from everyone are high.

“I have gained more experience than when I played for other teams in previous seasons. Even though we couldn’t win any cups, I think the happiness would have been another experience.”
