Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyökeres has rebuffed ongoing speculation that he will be joining Manchester United in the upcoming January transfer window.
Gyökeres, 26, has been in scintillating form for the Portuguese giants this campaign, netting 23 goals with a further four assists in 18 outings across all competitions, including a Champions League hat-trick against Manchester City.
According to ESPN.com, the Swedish international striker has played down speculation that he will be joining up with his former manager Rúben Amorim who has taken over the hotseat at the Old Trafford outfit a few days ago, to replace sacked Erik Ten Hag.
“It’s not something I think about, nor something I care about,” Gyökeres told Fotbollskanalen.
“These are rumours, nothing concrete. Of course I want to finish the season at Sporting, I enjoy my time there.

“I don’t feel stressed about making a change in the future. We’ll see when the time comes.”
Gyökeres is in his second season at Sporting since being snapped up from Coventry. His current contract is only set to expire in June 2028.
