Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence from the joint funeral of Liverpool star Diogo Jota and his footballer brother Andre Silva caused shockwaves in their homeland of Portugal.
Instead, the Portuguese captain is said to have been spotted on the island of Gondomar holidaying in two upmarket destinations on board his £5.5million 88-feet long Azimut Grande yacht.

According to experts and teammates, ‘CR7′ deliberately avoided attending the funeral in the fear of being a high-profile person who would cause distraction overshadowing the brothers’ farewell ceremonies.
Top Portuguese journalist Antonio Ribeiro Cristovao expressed his dissatisfaction at Ronaldo’s absence saying: “He is the captain of the Portugal squad. Many expected he would attend,” he was quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
“Diogo Jota was part of the team. Maybe there are some reasons we don’t know.
“If he doesn’t attend, he has to explain the reason. He has that responsibility. He is the captain.”
