All 2021/22 PSL Awards Nominees Announced

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) have released all the nominees for the Player of the Season awards, with Andile Jali receiving a massive five nominations in different categories.

Having already won the MTN8 and the DStv Premiership, and their place booked in next week’s Nedbank Cup final, it was no surprise that Mamelodi Sundowns’ players dominated the nominations.

The PSL started their announcement of the awards by naming the nominees for the DStv Diski Challenge Player of the Season, with Mduduzi Shabalala (Kaizer Chiefs) and Boitomelo Radiopane (Orlando Pirates) being the only two nominees.

In the Coach of the Season category, newly crowned champions Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mngqithi are nominated once again after missing out on last year’s accolade to Benni McCarthy. This season, they are joined by John Maduka of Royal AM and Cape Town City boss Eric Tinkler – who are vying for the runners-up position in the season finale on Saturday.

Overall, Andile Jali received five nominations, being in the running for the PSL Footballer of the Season, the Player’s Player of the Season, Midfielder of the Season, MTN8 Last Man Standing and the Nedbank Cup Player of the Season.
