Blom Enjoys Impressive MLS Debut

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom enjoyed an impressive debut in Major League Soccer as Bradley Carnell secured history for St Louis City SC.

Blom started the match on the bench against Austin FC but was called upon after only 17 minutes due to an injury to Indiana Vassilev.

And the Bafana Bafana midfielder didn’t disappoint with an energetic midfield display as they won their first-ever game in the MLS with a last-gasp 3-2 victory.

The newly formed franchise led by former Chiefs and Bafana left-back Carnell will no doubt take massive confidence with the win over last season’s fourth-placed side.

Blom will also be aiming to take his eye-catching start to life in the United States to the next level and earn a start when they face off against Charlotte next week Sunday.

Fellow South Africans Tsiki Ntsabeleng (FC Dallas) and Bongokuhle Hlongwane (Minnesota United) were also in action, with the Bafana forward coming up on the winning side 1-0 in their league opener.
