Broos ‘In Talks’ With European Club

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has continued to attract interest in his services with Belgian giants Club Brugge keen to lure him in as their Technical Director.

Broos’ stock has risen once again after leading South Africa to an unlikely third-place finish at the recent 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which led to links with Tunisia and Algeria.

It’s been no secret that at 71, the veteran tactician has taken priority of being with his family over permanently relocating to South Africa.

But after AFCON he insisted the only way he would leave the job is, if SAFA sacked him and waved away concerns that he’s looking to retire.

According to HLN, Brugge has now approached the Bafana boss, who was recently spotted at their home game at the Jan Breydel Stadium when they took on Anderlecht, an arena in close proximity to his current home.

It’s been reported in the new-look structure under CEO Bob Madou, they are seeking to rebuild the struggling giants with a Technical Director and Sporting Director to work with current head coach Ronny Deila.

The 48-year-old confirmed he’s aware they are in talks to fill those positions within the club, but was not privy to the names of the potential candidates, which suggests he is not the only candidate for the role.

Broos holds a legendary status in his homeland with four league titles as a player and three as a coach.
