Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jnr. has hailed the impact of new head coach Nasreddine Nabi and confirmed more signings are in the works.
Chiefs returned from pre-season in Turkey, with their new head coach, technical team and a squad seemingly brimming with excitement for the new season.
The club have recruited Bongani Sam, Rushwin Dortley and Fiacre Ntwari in the off-season, with the duo set to be unveiled imminently.
Nabi arrived after a season in the Botola Pro with ASFAR, having previously been linked with Chiefs after winning back to back trebles with Young Africans SC in Tanzania.
“I think we are very privileged to have the technical staff that we have with coach Nabi, he’s the new coach, an excellent coach, and what we really ask and we pray for is the patience from our supporters,” Motaung Jnr told iDiski Times.
“We pray for patience from our Amakhosi faithful because this is really a year where we’re going to reconstruct our squad, we will reconstruct who we are as a club from the inside out. Our know our fans have high expectations, and we also set high goals for ourselves but we wanna be realistic.
“We want the Amakhosi faithful to back the players, back the coach, the technical staff will need time to be able to influence their philosophy and bring about the change, so we ask for patience, and support and for us to be able to take the steps gradually to where we want to be me.”
When pressed on whether more business will be done before the start of the season, Motaung Jnr stated; “Yes there definitely is [more signings], we’re working tirelessly and meticulously behind the scenes to make sure we bring the right players, who will help us achieve our objectives.”
