Cape Town City’s DStv Diski Challenge coach Moritz Kossmann has officially joined Austria’s second-division side SV Ried.
Kossmann, who has also been a regular columnist for iDiski Times, joined the City DDC side at the beginning of the season as head coach from Ubuntu FC, where he had been since 2017.
The 31-year-old won the Engen Knockout Challenge with Ubuntu in 2019, but lost with City in the final of this year’s edition against Western Cape rivals Stellenbosch FC after a dramatic 4-2 penalty shootout defeat.
He also helped City finish inside the top eight in the DDC league after starting the season well with a young team that comprised the likes of 16-year-old Emile Witbooi, Xhosa Manyana, and Gabriel Amato.
Kossmann has officially joined SV Ried as an assistant coach/chief analyst. He is expected to help the side gain promotion to the Austria Elite league after they got relegated in the 2022/23 season.
