Dolly Clears Air On Galaxy Exit

Bafana Bafana winger Keagan Dolly says he felt it was time to move on from TS Galaxy, with the club making major changes again as they head into the 2025/26 season.

Dolly, 32, parted ways with Galaxy after spending half a season at the club and impressed during his time and potentially looking like he could form a key part of their future.

But after three goals in 20 appearances, he’s now a free agent and joining up with Bafana for the upcoming African Nations Championship in East Africa over the next month.

While Sukazi stated in an interview it was about game-time, there’s been a notable move to cut down the wage bill, as Dolly was joined by top scorer Dzenan Zajmovic out the door at the Rockets.

“I wanted to stay as well, but obviously a few… I won’t say problems, but decisions had to be made on a few senior players, and salaries and all of that, but I think the Chairman spoke about it,” he said after the Angola warm-up fixture for CHAN.

“But for me personally, I don’t think it was worth it anymore to stay at the club and not get what you deserve, so I felt like it was time for me to move on and try and look for something better.

“Not only for me, I’m getting to the latter stages of my career, it’s also about my family at this point, where everyone is comfortable.

“So, I had to think long and hard about it, because to be fair, TS Galaxy was good to me, a good club that promoted many youngsters. But it was a decision I had to make for my future and my families future.”

Dolly featured in the second half for South Africa in their 1-1 draw with Angola on Tuesday and will be aiming for more minutes on Friday, their final warm-up fixture before their trip to Kampala, Uganda this weekend.
