Former Al Ahly star Sayed Moawad has praised Pitso Mosimane for his achievements at the club and says he’d have wished for the South African coach to stay.
Mosimane left Al Ahly in the week’s after the CAF Champions League final, with the decision surprising many fans and experts.
However, there had been constant criticism of Mosimane during his stint at Al Ahly, with several club legends continuously speaking out against him.
Moawad, who himself won 11 trophies at Al Ahly, including three CAF Champions Leagues, has now come out and insisted Mosimane had a successful spell.
“Mosimane made both good and bad decisions, but his achievements were far more than his failures,” Mowad said, as per Kingfut.
“The proof is all the trophies he won with Al Ahly, his achievements speak for him.
“Some fans criticized him for performance and rest periods he gave to the players, but I think he was successful, he won many trophies and I wish he would have stayed with the team.”
