Hlongwane’s Title Hopes Ended

The title hopes of Bongokuhle Hlongwane in the Major League Soccer ended with a 6-2 thrashing of his side by LA Galaxy.

Hlongwane’s Minnesota had reached the semi-finals of the Western Conference in the MLS, but LA Galaxy was too strong.

They were up 3-2 at half-time and added three more goals in the second half, even missing a penalty while Jefferson Diaz got sent off in the 82nd minute when the score was already 4-2.

Hlongwane himself played 71 minutes in the tie, but only had 22 touches and couldn’t impact the outcome.

The 24-year-old finished the campaign with 11 goals and four assists in 39 games.
