Marumo Gallants head coach Dan Malesela has revealed that Celimpilo Ngema told him he hasn’t signed a pre-contract with AmaZulu.

At the beginning of season Bahlabane Baba Ntwaa lost their midfield maestro Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo to Orlando Pirates.

Six months later, they lost Ivorian international Sege Junior Dion to AmaZulu FC, while Ngema is understood to have signed pre-contract with Usuthu, as reported by iDiski Times earlier this month.

When asked about Ngema’s pre-contract with Usuthu, Malesela explained that some players deal with pre-contracts better than others and insisted the midfielder told him he hadn’t signed.

“I knew that was going to come up because he’s the one who made a mistake,” Malesela told iDiski Times after his side’s 1-1 draw at Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday.

“I don’t want to assume things, if that is the case then it’s probably difficult. Some people can handle things, some people cannot. Pre-contracts are difficult to handle for some people and some people can and once a person has signed but can you do as club.

“I’m not sure, I don’t know. I just hear from people when I asked him he said no he didn’t sign. It’s unfortunate we’re losing players but we have to replace [them].”

Gallants return to action on Saturday when they host third-placed Richards Bay.
