Major League Soccer (MLS) side Minnesota United have announced highly-rated forward Bongokuhle Hlongwane has signed a new three-year contract.
Hlongwane, 24, joined the USA-based outfit in January 2022 from Maritzburg United (Durban City) after impressing in the South African top flight and breaking into the senior South Africa national team.
He’s been an ever-present figure at the club over the past three seasons, racking up 30 goals and 14 assists in 108 games which led to interest from the Turkish Super Lig and Germany in recent months.
However, he’s now committed to the club on a new deal that could run until the end of the 2029 season in America.
United recently confirmed Bafana Bafana legend Bradley Carnell as their new head coach for the upcoming season.
