Young Africans SC have confirmed the appointment of South African tactician Fadlu Davids as their new head coach, with the former Maritzburg United boss replacing Manqoba Mngqithi.
Davids takes charge of the Tanzanian giants after spending several months without a club following his departure from Moroccan outfit Raja Casablanca in June.
The South African is no stranger to Tanzanian football, having previously been in charge of Yanga’s arch-rivals Simba SC.
During his spell at Simba, Davids guided the club to the CAF Confederation Cup final, but they ultimately missed out on the continental crown.
“I feel happy, I feel Tanzania is home, the people of Tanzania have always welcomed me and showed me love,” said Davids after touching down in Tanzania.
“It’s very good to be back and join the club.”
The South African tactician further disclosed that this was the third time Yanga had made an approach for his services.
But he believed this time the opportunity had come at the right moment in his coaching career.
