CAF President Patrice Motsepe has donated $500,000 to the reported 2000 displaced community members in Pembe, Mozambique.
Dr. Motsepe visited the Cabo Delgado communities this week and donated close to R8-million on behalf of the Motsepe Foundation.
It’s been reported that over 3000 troops from a number of African countries moved into the province last year to combat insurgents who seized territory in the area.
He was accompanied by the governor of the state Valige Tauabo, CAF General Secretary, Veron Mosengo-Omba, the Mozambique Football Association, President Faizal Sidat, and co-founder and CEO of the Motsepe Foundation, Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe.
He was also present in Maputo later on Tuesday afternoon for the launch of the African Football Schools Programme.
