Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has hailed Given Msimango as an exemplary figure in the squad after his impressive return to the starting line-up.

He helped the squad keep a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Magesi and had an impressive display in the 3-1 win over Stellenbosch as they advanced to the Nedbank Cup semi-finals.
With only six games played out of a possible 25 in all competitions this season, it’s been a campaign of patience from the 27-year-old who joined the club from TS Galaxy in July 2023.

“Given has took his chances fairly well and shown his qualities in the last two games and that’s what we want from every player,” Nabi said.
“The moment he’s been called to play, to perform, that he shows his quality, which is going to increase the competitiveness of the players which will increase the performance of the team.

“It’s not only Given but we feel that every player should have that same character, of stepping up when it needs to be and when we have injuries – it doesn’t affect the team negatively.”
Prior to his arrival at Chiefs, Msimango played every minute of the Rockets 2022/23 season, the only outfield player in the league to achieve the feat in that campaign.
