Ngezana Asked To Compare FCSB And SA Fans

FCSB defender Siyabonga Ngezana says he can’t compare the supporters of South African football with his new surroundings in Romania.

Ngezana endured an indifferent start to life at the club after his surprise off-season transfer from Kaizer Chiefs which is said to be in the region of R12 million.

However, the recent injury of Romania national team captain Vlad Chiricheș opened the door for his debut seven games into the season and he’s not looked back since.

Three consecutive games now for the towering defender, two of which were starts and earned high praise from supporters and media, despite the difficulties with communication alongside his defensive partner Joyskim Dawa, a Cameroon international.

“It’s very nice when the stadium is full. I can’t say who is better [between the fans from South Africa or Romanian fans]. We just like to see the stadium full. It was very nice,” Ngezana said about the packed stadiums, as per ProSport.

“It is not easy to change the country, to adapt. I thank the people who helped me get used here. It was hard for me, it’s not easy for me.

“I had to wait for my chance. But, it’s not about me, it’s about the team. The chance came tonight and I took it.

“It’s a dream come true, but it’s not easy. I came here because it’s Europe. It’s a dream to be here. Yes, that is the reason.”

With seven wins from eight games, FCSB holds a four-point lead at the summit of the Superliga with a game in hand over second-placed Universitatea Craiova.
