Siyabonga Ngezana and FCSB failed to qualify for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League group phase after being eliminated by Sparta Praha on Tuesday.
FCSB had gone through preliminary rounds already but were stopped in the third by the Czech champions, losing 4-3 on aggregate.
The Romanian champions had picked up a respectable 1-1 draw in the first leg away from home but lost 3-2 at home on Tuesday.
Ngezana played the full 90 minutes, but the South African and his side will now play UEFA Europa League in 2024/25.
Sparta Praha, meanwhile, will face Malmo in the playoffs round after they knocked out Greek giants PAOK 6-5 on aggregate.
