Nku – Spurs Are Fighting For Their Lives

Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lesiba Nku admits the Cape Town Spurs game can be tricky as they fight for DStv Premiership survival.

Sundowns have won 10 of their opening 10 league games, a new record in the PSL era, while Spurs, by contrast, have lost 12 of their opening 13 games.

Their only points so far this season was a win over Orlando Pirates at home – and with new head coach Ernst Middendorp at the helm, he’s targeting points before the mid-season break.

“I think the game against Spurs won’t be easy, they are fighting for their lives, and we also want to the league, we’re trying to win every game we play, it’s not going to be an easy game, we’re going to fight,” Nku said.

“No [we don’t look at the log], we take each game when it comes, so each game that we play, we want to win, we don’t check where they are [on the log] or where we are -so we just want to win every game that we play.”

“I think about the CAF, it’s something else, but now we’re [back to] playing in the league, the preparation has been good, you know we play after every two or three days so I think we’re preparing and recovering well.”

Sundowns host the Urban Warriors on Wednesday evening at Loftus Versfeld (19h30).
