Senegal coach Aliou Cisse has named his 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and made a huge decision on Sadio Mane.
The Africa Cup of Nations champions are the highest-ranked CAF nation in 18th place in the latest FIFA rankings and many think they can go the furthest of the five African representatives.
However, they suffered a major blow when Sadio Mane picked up an injury in Bayern Munich’s midweek game against Werder Bremen.
Subsequent reports claimed that Mane would miss the World Cup, while Bayern stated “more tests need to be done”.
Official statement by Bayern:

On Friday, Cisse named Mane into his Senegal squad for the upcoming tournament in Qatar, but it remains to be seen whether the African Footballer of the Year can really recover on time.
The Lions of Teranga have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Qatar, Netherlands and Ecuador, starting their tournament 21 November against the Netherlands.
