Orlando Pirates will face Al Ahly Tripoli in the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup after the Libyan giants beat their domestic rivals 1-0 on aggregate on Sunday evening.
The 12-time league champions secured a slender victory in the Libyan derby at the Martyrs of February Stadium thanks to a goal from the highly-rated Ayoub Ayed in the 19th minute.
The 22-year-old Tunisian was the only difference between the two sides as they secured their first semi-final qualification in the competition in their history.
Pirates coach Mandla Ncizkazi admitted after their victory over Simba SC at Orlando Stadium that he would have preferred facing Al Ittihad, due to facing them in the group stage.
However, they now face an unknown entity in the form of Ahly, who last won the Libyan Premier League in the 2015/16 season.
Pirates will travel to Benghazi for the first leg before hosting the Libyans in Orlando for the return leg in the final four, while TP Mazembe will face either Al Masry of Egypt or Botola Pro outfit RS Berkane.
