Orlando Pirates look to exercise the buying option on SuperSport United midfielder Thalente Mbatha, as he continues to impress at the Bucs.
The surprise move of Mbatha from United to Pirates happened in January after Bucs settled on a loan with option to buy with Matsatsantsa.
The 24-year-old played only 200 minutes at United before moving to the Sea Robbers, where he has been an instant hit.
Since completing his move to Pirates, Mbatha has made eight appearances and has one goal and two assists. The Highlands Park youth development product also won the Man of the Match in a 1-1 draw against Cape Town Spurs.
Speaking with Mbatha’s representative Mike Makaab from Prosport International, he mentioned they are confident on their side that the option will be exercised but that all depends to Pirates.
“Yes, he is there on loan with option to buy,” Makaab told iDiski Times.
“He is playing and at this moment we’re quite confident that the option will be exercised but obviously that is up to Orlando Pirates.”
