Pitso Successor Gets First League Win

Pitso Mosimane’s successor Ricardo Soares has collected his first Egyptian Premier League win after his side thumped Future FC 4-0.

Soares had started his reign with a 2-0 Cup win over Petrojet but saw his side drop points in a goalless draw against El Gouna.

However, on Tuesday evening, Al Ahly returned back to their best, thumping fourth-placed Future 4-0.

The game was already decided at half-time thanks to a brace by Mohamed Magdy Afsha and a penalty by Ali Maaloul.

Ahmed Abdelkader added his side’s fourth, as Al Ahly kept their title hopes alive. The ‘Club of the Century’ remained six points behind log leaders Zamalek, who have two games in hand.

The White Knights won their own match 1-0 against Al-Mokawloon earlier on Tuesday.

Percy Tau was not part of the Al Ahly squad as he still recovers from his injury,
