Pitso Mosimane and his Al Ahly side have suffered a blow ahead of their CAF Champions League semi-final second leg after Luis Miquissone suffered a serious knee injury.
The 26-year-old has scored three goals in 16 appearances for the Egyptian giants this season after joining the club from Simba SC.
However, it seems Miquissone will now be sidelined for quite some time, picking up a knee ligament injury in training.
“Ahmed Abu Abla, the team’s doctor, announced that the medical scans which Luis Miqquisone underwent revealed that the player suffers from a sprain in the inner ligament of the knee,” the club said on it’s website.
“Miquissone, Al Ahly’s attacking midfielder, picked up an injury while participating in the team’s training session on Thursday at Mustapha Tchaker Stadium.”
The injury happened in Algeria, where Al Ahly are preparing for their CAF Champions League semi-final second leg against ES Setif.
Al Ahly have one foot in the final after beating the Algerian side 4-0 in the first leg after their semi-final, thanks to a brace and two assists by Percy Tau. Miquissone, who was on the books of Sundowns between 2018 and 2020, did feature in the game for 22 minutes.
