Abha FC head coach Pitso Mosimane has identified that last-minute lapses of concentration are something they need to look at.
Mosimane found Abha in the relegation zone and had one mandate, which is to save the club. The South African mentor started his journey with a 1-1 draw with Al-Taawon.
Despite getting a point Mosimane felt they should’ve gotten three points after scoring in the 93rd minute but conceded an equaliser on the 96th minute.
The three-time CAF Champions League winner applauded his team but identified that last-minute lack of concentration as a concern.
“We did our best, but I think we lost two points the same way we lost the game against Al Raed [97th-minute winner],” Mosimane told Saudi media.
“So it means we need to improve our concentration at the end, at the last minute of the game in the critical phase. But we played a team that was fourth [in the league] and you can see why they are a good team.
“We had our chance and we took it – yes, it was an own goal but it was forced… because we put the balls in the box.
“But I am happy with my team. The organization is better, but we need to improve a little bit going forward now to convince ourselves that we can score.”
