Orlando Pirates Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro reserved special praise for midfielder Kabelo Dlamini who he believes was rightly chosen as the Man of the Match in their Nedbank Cup semifinal win over Marumo Gallants.
Dlamini seems to be enjoying the cup of dreams at the last four stages of the competition after his Man of the Match performance helped Pirates reach their third consecutive final. The former Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder scored a brace last season against Chippa United in the semis in a 3-1 win at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The left-footed midfield maestro received high praises from Riveiro after the Gallants match stating that it’s the first time in his three years in the country a man of the match award gets given to a deserved player. The Spaniard also mentioned how crucial Dlamini’s role is in the Pirates team.
“Today for example we had a possibility to play Thalente [Mbatha] who has been playing that position recently and Kabelo is a safe option for us to play there, we know what he can give us,” Riveiro told SuperSport TV.
“Like you said he was not involved recently because he was sick and managed to play a good 60 minutes, I’m happy for him. Finally, you chose the right man of the match, I think it’s the first time since I’ve been here.
“He was giving us a really good performance, he is one of those players that sometimes looks invisible for the people, but he is doing a really important contribution to the team to play good football.”
