SA Winger Joins Belgian Side Beveren

South African winger Kurt Abrahams has returned to Belgium with SK Beveren after a season in Serbia with FK Novi Pazar.

The 27-year-old holds extensive experience in the country having first arrived in 2017 with Sint-Truiden as a teenager.

He went on to play for the likes of KVC Westerlo and KMSK Deinze, racking up 127 appearances across all competitions, scoring 23 goals with 18 assists.

The Cape Town-born talent has penned a one-and-a-half-year contract with the club, and General Manager Bob Peeters says it was an easy decision to make for the club.

“With Kurt Abrahams, we bring in a creative and fast player who can decide games. With his experience at Westerlo and Deinze, he knows Belgian football inside out,” he said.

“Kurt is highly versatile: he can play on both the left and right flanks and is also an option as a number 10. This gives our coach more attacking options.”

Abrahams had been training with the club over the last couple of weeks and made his debut this weekend in their 2-0 win over RWDM.
