With the DStv Premiership now going into a two-week break, there have been some standout performers in the league so far, with Brandon Petersen leading the list based on Sofascore ratings.
Petersen has been Molefi Ntseki’s number one this season, with the coach continuously backing his goalkeeper publicly.
Petersen, despite one or two mistakes, has largely repaid the faith of the coach and saved his team several points – receiving the Man of the Match award in Kaizer Chiefs’ latest 2-0 win against Stellenbosch FC.
Petersen received an 8.3 rating from Sofascore for his performance against Stellenbosch, which was his best of the season so far and has lifted his average to 7.78 – higher than any other player after making five saves.
He is followed by new new Mamelodi Sundowns signing Lucas Ribeiro, who has scored four goals and one assist already. He’s received an 8.4 rating for his performance in the 2-0 win over Polokwane City, and currently sits on 7.76 on average.
The top three is round up by Grant Margeman, who also had an average rating of 7.76. His best performance also came against Stellenbosch, but last weekend, when he scored the winner and received an 8.2.
Other players among the top 10 performers so far are Marcelo Allende in sixth place, and red-hot Zakhele Lepasa in eighth, and you can see the complete top 10 below.
