Another big weekend in the DStv Diski Challenge is on the horizon as table-toppers Stellenbosch FC welcome Orlando Pirates while Kaizer Chiefs & Mamelodi Sundowns target the summit.
After a break last week, Chiefs return to action against AmaZulu at Dobsonville Stadium with top spot a target as they are three points adrift of Stellies.
Meanwhile, Usuthu are desperate to end their three-match winless run which was against Sundowns, SuperSport United, and TS Galaxy.
Sundowns then welcome struggling Golden Arrows in the capital as they aim to keep their four-match unbeaten run intact. Abafana Bes’thende on the other hand finally won a game last weekend after seven matches, and causing an upset is something they are looking to do so that they can move up the table.
Cape Town City have a difficult task at hand as they pay a visit to newcomers Magesi FC at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. City haven’t won a game away from home this season. They lost 3-0 to Richards Bay, 5-1 to Sundowns, and played to a 2-2 draw against Pirates. Meanwhile, Dikwena Tsa Meetsi have had a good run against the top four teams only winning one game so far in the campaign. Tlou Segolela’s side held Stellenbosch to a 1-1 draw, beat Sundowns 2-1, and lost 1-0 to Chiefs before holding Pirates to a goalless draw.
The big game of the weekend will be in Cape Town on Sunday morning where Stellies entertain Pirates in what is expected to be a mouthwatering clash. The defending champions have won all their home games so far this term which makes it even more difficult for Pirates who are not good travellers. The Buccaneers lost two matches away from home, drew one, and won one. Stellenbosch aim to maintain top spot and possibly keep the three-point gap between them and the league chasers.
