Ghana national team coach Carlos Queiroz has named his final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Queiroz was brought in March after Otto Addo was dismissed following a series of unfavourable results, and added his long-term assistant Roger Da Sa to his technical team.

Ghana, one of the most successful African nations, didn’t get out of the group in the last two World Cup editions while they also missed the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

They will be looking for redemption in the event co-hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico.

They have been draw in Group L with Panama who they open their campaign against on 18 June. They will then face England, who were quarter-finalists at the last World Cup on 23 June, and also Croatia, who reached the semis in Qatar, on 27 June 2026.

Defender Alejander Djiku who plays for Monaco wasn’t considered as he picked an ACL injury, while midfielder Abu Francis sustained a leg fracture against Japan.

Premier League stars Mohammed Kudus of Tottenham Hotspur and Antoine Semenyo of Manchester City have also been named in Black Stars side alongside record appearances holder Jordan Ayew, on the books of Leicester City.

There is also Thomas Partey of Villarreal, who is facing charges of rape and assault in England, with the case set to be heard in November. Despite his charges, Partey continued to play for the Black Stars and had joined Villarreal after his departure from Arsenal ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Ghana picked up a 1-1 draw against Wales in Tuesday’s friendly, conceding a late equaliser.
