Neymar Sends Message To Pele

Amid worries over Pele’s health after he was reportedly moved to to palliative end-of-life care in hospital, Neymar sent a message to the Brazil legend.

The 30-year-old returned to the starting XI for Brazil’s 4-1 win over South Korea, during which the Selecao ran riot in the first half.

Neymar was also on the scoresheet, scoring his side’s second goal from the penalty spot after assisting Vinicius Jr. for the opener, with Richarlison and Lucas Paqueta scoring the other two goals.

Neymar’s strike took him just one goal behind Pele’s all-time record of 77 goals for Brazil and after the match the team and Neymar paid tribute to one of the greatest players of all time.

“It’s hard to talk about what Pele is going through, but I wish him all the best,” Neymar said, as per SuperSport.

“I hope he’ll get well as soon as possible, and that we at least brought him some comfort with the win and the banner we dedicated to him.”

Brazil’s gesture came after it was reported that Pele, 82, was moved to palliative care in a hospital after his body stopped responding to chemotherapy for the reported bowel cancer he’s been battling for the last year.
